Fruits of Reparation

Hi! How is each and every one? I couldn’t get over the feeling of joy and satisfaction? Is it the right term or amusement after having listened to the video shared by somebody from another group on June 26 homily of Archbishop Dolan in St. Patrick’s Cathedral, New York.  It is always best to hear from other well meaning people about the many good things of different institutions especially those under the scrutiny of some others.

There is another video I found https://opusdei.org/en/article/oskari-finding-god-on-google/

Following is another excerpt on the Fruits of Reparation (From Joseph Tissot, How to profit from your faults pp. 114-115).

St. Francis de Sales does not want us merely to accept the harmful consequences of our shortcomings simply as punishment.  He wants us to correct them by redoubling our efforts.  “But you might well ask what we should do to make up for lost time.  You should live the remaining part of your lives more fervently and diligently” (Sermon for the Feast of the Presentation).

As a true disciple of her dear father, St. Jeanne de Chantal often repeated to her daughters these encouraging remarks:  “You ask, ‘How can we see the will of God in our faults and in our imperfections?’  Yes, my dear children—we can always see his will, permitting us to fall into imperfections so as to make us humble.  We accuse ourselves, we love our misery, and, in so doing, make reparation for our faults and obtain pardon for them” (Instruction 12).

Such has been the practice of the saints:  “They rise up from their fall,” says St. Ambrose, “more ardent and more resolute to fight; so much so, that their faults rather than being an obstacle, are an occasion to redouble their fervor” (De apologia David, ch. 2).

St. John Chrysostom adds:  “Men who previously rushed impetuously into doing evil, now do good with the same fervor, all the more so as they cannot get rid of their huge debts:  He who is forgiven little loves little (Lk 7:47).”  Consumed by the fire of repentance, they make their souls purer than the purest gold.  The strength of their conscience and the memory of past transgressions, like an impetuous wind, then blows full sail along the course of virtue.  In this way, they are better than those who have never stumbled.  Repentance, as the Scriptures have shown us, endows the converted sinner with a splendor greater than that of the just.  That is why the tax collectors and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you (Mt 21:31).  That is why many that are first will be last, and the last first (Mt 19:30)’ (Ad Theod. laps., I, ch. 2).

Aleteia What devotion to Mary will do for you

(Sir 24:24-25) I am the mother of fair love, and of fear, and of knowledge, and of holy hope. In me is all grace of the way and of the truth, in me is all hope of life and of virtue”.

Our way to Jesus is His mother, Our mother too.  “To Jesus through Mary”.  Let us, then, turn our gaze towards Mary, Mother of Jesus, Mediatrix of all graces, our hope handmaid of the Lord.

As always the best time to consider all the above is during our quiet time of conversation with the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Love and our sanctifier.  Let us listen to what He tells you and me and do as He tells each one of us.  Then you and I will be happy and fulfilled.

See you in the next post, May tomorrow be a perfect day; may you find love and laughter along the way; may God keep you in his tender care; ‘til He brings us together again.”

Affectionately,

Guadalupinky
